To celebrate the irreplaceable bond one has with their mothers we, at GD Goenka Public School, Sector-9, Rohini, took an opportunity to celebrate Mothers’ Day on 10th May 2019. All the beautiful mothers of the students from Pre-school graced the event with their presence. The day started with lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the Principal, Dr. Shipra Kumar followed by a melodious song sung by our little Goenkans. The event gained its pace when our tiny tots regaled everyone with their dance performance. The fun did not end there as the teachers had many fun-filled activities planned for both mothers and children. While the children were busy with cotton dabbing, tattoo making and vegetable printing, the mothers showed their talent in saree draping, balloon bursting, paper dance, musical chair and listing their favourite cosmetics brand and items. The event ended with mothers flooding the beautiful selfie corner along with their children to preserve the memories of the day.

We at GD Goenka Public School Sector -9 Rohini, believe that it is our responsibility to nurture good human beings who are well aware about their responsibility towards their mother Earth. 20th April 2019 was celebrated as Earth Day at the school premises to ensure our goal of creating these environment aware humans. It was a great day to showcase their environment education, highlight their efforts to make the school green and engage the whole student community in making a difference.
The students from Classes Preschool to 2 took this opportunity to elaborate on different ways which can enable us to save Earth from global warming. A poem recitation activity was also conducted on the occasion. The Principal, Dr. Shipra Kumar motivated and guided students to work together and take small steps to bring about a positive change in the environment.
We at GD Goenka Public School, Sector -9 Rohini, believe in celebrating the festivals of every religion. Easter Sunday or Easter Day is the most important day of the year for Christians. It is when they celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ marking the victory of good over evil. Candles are used in churches all over the world to start the Easter Day Midnight celebrations. Candles help Christians to remember that Jesus is the light of the world and that when he rose to life on Easter Day he got rid of the darkness of evil. On 18th April, to celebrate Easter Day students from Class pre-school to 2 decorated Easter eggs beautifully and understood the significance of this day.
In the world full of materialistic temptations it is the need of the hour to make the students aware about the natural environment around them. GD Goenka Public School, Sector-9, Rohini took an opportunity to bring young Goenkans close to nature by celebrating Naturalization Day on 18th April, 2019. The Students from Classes Preschool to 2 went to the field and planted saplings to celebrate Naturalization Day. All the students were super excited and understood the importance of plants in our lives.
The learning at GD Goenka Public School, Sector 9, Rohini is never limited to the classroom. To merge the teaching learning boundaries of classroom and outside world the students from Classes VII –VIII were taken on a heritage walk to Humanyun’s Tomb on 6th April 2019. The students were accompanied by their teachers Ms. Rajbala Yadav, Ms. Aastha Kochar, Ms. Nishtha Bathla, Ms. Nishtha Kamboj and Mr. Karan. The students not only explored the magnificent architecture of the historical site but also were familiarized with the importance and relevance of the monument. The day ended with students writing about their experience and five things they found interesting about the monument.
G.D. Goenka Public School, Sector - 9, Rohini organised a Musical Drama "Katha Kahaani... Karadi ki Zubaani" on 3rd May' 2019 for Class 2 students under the guidance of Principal Dr. Shipra Kumar.
The children showcased their talent on the stage through dance performances and enactment. The learning outcome of the event was to have faith in ourselves and not to imitate others.
The event was culminated by vote of thanks.

GD Goenka Public School, Sec-9, Rohini, welcomed the little Goenkans on the first day at their new home. 3rd April 2019 marked the acclimatization day where the students were made comfortable with the school environment. Many activities like tattoo making, toy train ride, magic show and Bouncy were organized by the school to ensure that the little Goenkans have fun-filled time at school. The day ended with students creating a take-away hand print craft as a token of remembrance of the day
No river can return back to its source, yet all rivers must have a beginning
30th March 2019 marked the first step towards the new beginning as the school was all set to welcome it's newest member. GDGPS sec-9 conducted an orientation program welcoming the parents of all the new admissions to familiarize them with the school. The program head started with a melodious symphony that left everyone with goosebumps followed by a power-packed semi classical dance performance on Mahishasur Mardini. The audience couldn't get enough of our tiny tots as they regaled everyone with their cutesy performance dressed as the most adorable Mickey and Minnie. Even the honorable guest Ms. Bharti Sharma, Senior Director Academics, GD Goenka Group of School was mesmerized by the glittering muchkins. She further addressed the gathering telling them about the vision, beliefs and ideologies behind the Goenkan values and teachings. The principal, Dr. Shipra Kumar, took this opportunity to further add to the ideological beliefs of GDGPS sec 9 and motivated the new Goenkans to thrive to their potential. The students also presented a talk show highlighting all the momentous occasion of the previous session. The program ended with a breathtaking performance by the Groovy Goenkans as they stole the show with their energetic western performance before the parents were introduced to the Goenkan fraternity.
GD Goenka Public School, Sec-9, Rohini organized the ‘Graduation Day’ ceremony for the young Goenkans of Pre-Primary and Pre-School on 18th March 2019. Various events took place on the stage revealing the world of GD Goenka. It talked about the learning method adopted by the school, bonding between kids and their peer groups and various other co-curricular activities. Children danced and acted based on the theme of greeting each other, healthy and junk food and good habits and manners that one should develop from the young age. The ceremony culminated with the distribution of certificates, gowns and caps to the tiny tots by the Principal Dr. Shipra Kumar and the Academic Coordinator Ms. Monika Kumar.
Introducing students to aptitude tests helps to develop critical thinking and broaden their understanding of dependencies amongst subjects. GD Goenka Public School, Sector-9, Rohini, in association with The Times NIE program conducted ‘School Super League 2018’. These simple tests covered a range of parameters such as verbal, numerical ability, mechanical reasoning, abstract and special reasoning to name a few. The school congratulates Harsh Jain of class VIII and Arzoo Jindal of class VI on coming out victorious as school toppers and winning a Tablet for their accolade.
